Change

The foundation of success is in your ability to change faster than your competitors, your clients and your company. (Mark Sanborn)

The speed of change will not lessen in the next period. On the contrary, competition will become even faster in the next decennia. (John P. Kotter)

Who changes slowly is usually afraid of the new. (Philip Crosby)

Businesses need to more or less constantly change these days in order to survive. New products, new services, a new way of approaching the customer, adjustments to conform to new laws, merge with or takeover of another organisation, moving premises, the starting up or maybe the closing down of a part of the business. And then the first change has successfully been completed, but the following year something else needs to change, and a year later even more ... There's always something! Those who don't progress with the developments around them are taking big risks. Standing still really means going backwards!

In practice we often find the following:
The entrepreneur or the managing director usually does see the need for change or the taking on of new things, but realises that his expertise lies in other areas. He prefers to employ his time doing the things he is really good at.
These activities usually do not include finding and following the correct course for his company, shaping and implementing the desired changes, nor in obtaining the willingness to change among his employees.

In such cases we advise and assist in the formulation but especially in the implementation of the new company strategy. We support and assist in the improvement and strengthening of the business processes. In almost all cases, the change must be implemented by and with the employees. And most employees are not very change-minded… Unfortunately this is often not noticed until later when good employees leave as the result of a succession of changes that they experienced as negative. These changes concerned the content of their work, their career possibilities or their remuneration. But also the ‘culture’ of the organization, the policies and especially the work atmosphere.

We make sure that your employees understand what needs to be changed and why, and how they can help it happen. We achieve this as experienced business and organisation experts, with a broad practical and strategic Human Resource background and with a considerable knowledge of modern developments in these areas. We have successfully completed many change projects in large and small businesses, societies, foundations and institutions in the Netherlands and abroad. Guiver Freeman is especially, but not exclusively, specialised in professional organisations.
